The 24th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) held a Hong Kong promotion conference on the 25th. Huang Yan, Director of International and Mainland Relations of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, introduced at the meeting that Hong Kong will continue to set up an exhibition hall at the CIFIT this year with the theme of “Hong Kong Connects the World” to showcase Hong Kong’s position under the country’s “14th Five-Year Plan” Unique advantages.
The 24th CIFIT, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, will be held in Xiamen, Fujian Province from September 8 to 11 this year, with the annual theme of “Investment Connecting the World”. The exhibition area is approximately 120,000 square meters, displaying the development achievements and investment environment at home and abroad, as well as innovative achievements in the fields of artificial intelligence, information technology, new energy and new materials.
During the conference, Hong Kong will also cooperate with relevant units in Fujian to organize exchange seminars with themes such as “Brand Overseas Chain Operations” and hold special corporate roadshows.
Li Yong, deputy director of the Investment Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, delivered a speech at the promotion meeting, saying that Hong Kong is a bridge connecting the mainland and the world, and has unique advantages in the field of international investment such as talents, capital, services, networks, and channels. We hope to continue to strengthen cooperation with all walks of life in Hong Kong and jointly make good use of the CIFIT platform to attract more foreign companies to choose Hong Kong and promote in-depth cooperation between more Hong Kong companies, talents, and capital and the mainland.
Li Shujing, the relevant person in charge of Invest Hong Kong, said that Hong Kong has been actively participating in CIFITs for many years to introduce business advantages and business opportunities to companies with potential and willingness to invest in Hong Kong. The economic and trade cooperation between Fujian and Hong Kong is close. The country is currently entering a new stage of high-quality development. It is expected that the two places will continue to deepen cooperation and complement each other’s advantages to coordinate with the overall development of the country.
Zhou Qiang, deputy director of the Economic Department and head of the Trade Office of the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Hong Kong, said that China is one of the best investment destinations in the world. The door to opening up will only become wider and wider, and the investment and trade cooperation opportunities between the mainland and Hong Kong will also increase. There will be more and more meetings. It is hoped that the Hong Kong business community will make good use of negotiation and cooperation platforms such as the CIFIT to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the mainland, actively integrate into the overall development of the country, and seize new development opportunities.
